In 1955, Mr. and Mrs. Carman and Madeleine Harrison started a small camp at their cottage on the eastern shore of Otter Lake. The combination of water and woodland made an ideal setting for a children's camp. Over the next twenty five years, until their retirement in 1981, the Harrisons' summer family grew to 150 campers.

Mr. Michael Southam was next to take on ownership of the camp. He built a stone dining hall (Harrison Hall), modernized the cabin facilities and added new programs over the next fifteen years.

In 1996, we took over the camp and are proud to continue the traditions of Otterdale with our own children and with new generations of campers.
